The Race to Abbey Road

David and family left today.  The plan was to leave the house at two p.m.  At about 1:10 David decided he wanted to see the Abbey Road Crossing, 1.3 miles from our place.  So, he and I took off.  I knew several shortcuts that google maps hadn’t used so it wasn’t quite a 2.6 mile roundtrip, but we did some major fast-walking to get there, look around  and get back by 2:05.

David re-enacting the album cover. Not sure which Beatle he is. I think it might be Pete Best.

When we got back, we immediately left for Paddington Station where they were taking the Heathrow Express to the airport.  We had to squeeze the luggage onto a bus to get there because the only tube line that goes through our local station (Bakerloo) is completely closed for the weekend for repairs.  As I write this, they are halfway across the Atlantic.

Nancy and I walked around the Paddington area for a bit and then came home for a nothing day.  We walked by the Winrose Hotel on Sussex Gardens where I stayed in 2011 with Earl, Lois, Arnie, and Margaret.

I got to watch some Test Match Cricket tonight.  India had 307-6 in their innings.
