Today, despite Transport for London trying to trap us in our neighborhood by shutting down our lifeline Bakerloo line, we decided to visit the Columbia Road Flower market.
We had to walk to the Brondesbury Park Overground station and take the train (with one change) to Hoxton and then walk to the market.
The market had a huge amount of flowers and approximately one person for every petal on all of those flowers.

After we broke out of the other end of the crowd, we walked back to the Overground and took it to New Cross Gate where I knew the #36 bus begins its run. We had lunch there (not at the Rose Inn) and then caught the bus back for 42 stops and 90 minutes. I didn’t mind at all because for most of the trip we were going through areas of London I’ve never seen before.

Home now planning a train trip we are going to take tomorrow or Tuesday. I just looked out the window and noticed we are having non-visitor weather – not baking hot and not raining.

A little more after the first update:
I forgot to mention the on the way to the train we found the weekly Queen’s Park Market set up at the school. It was a nice neighborhood thing with everything from coffee stands to bakeries to butchers.
Tonight, taking advantage of the perfect weather, I spent some time in Queen’s Park reading. If I lived here, I’d probably spend most of my nice weather days in that park.
